Andrew Carnegie Legacy Society
Philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, who made his fortune in the steel industry through hard work and innovative strategies, donated much of his wealth to establish libraries in the United States, including a $50,000 contribution to the Aurora Public Library in 1909.
To honor his legacy, the Aurora Public Library Foundation established the Andrew Carnegie Legacy Society. The legacy society provides resources for innovative technologies, programming, and services. Most members join by letting us know that they have left a bequest in the last will and testament naming the Aurora Public Library Foundation as the recipient.
Other types of planned gifts are accepted and we are happy to discuss membership with you.
Please contact the Foundation by emailing Lstoney@aurorapubliclibrary.org or calling 630-264-4124.
